Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
1. Who we are
CAFE (Causal Adaptive Fusion Engine) is operated by Diego Duron Tepichin, an individual based in Mexico ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through cafe-pricing.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, and how it is handled.
For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].
2. What we collect
Checkout information: when you request a purchase, the Site collects your name, email, company (optional), and a hardware identifier used to issue your software license. This is sent to our payment provider, Paddle, to process payment and generate your license — see Section 4.
Free trial requests: when you ask for the free backtest trial, the Site collects your name, email, company (optional), and the hardware identifier of the computer the trial will run on. They are sent to our backend to issue the trial key and to notify us of the request; they are not sent to the payment provider. The sales, price and cost data you load into the software stays on your computer and is never sent to us.
Contact form: if you reach out to us, we collect the email address and message you provide.
Technical/server data: our hosting providers (Cloudflare for the Site and the download files, Render for the backend API) automatically log standard technical data for any request, such as IP address and timestamps, as part of normal web server operation and abuse prevention. We do not use this data for tracking or advertising.
We do not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers of any kind. The Site stores two preferences locally in your browser (dark/light theme and language) and your answer to the storage notice, using localStorage, not cookies — this data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. You can turn the preference storage off at any time from "Cookie preferences" in the footer. The Paddle checkout, when you open it, may set the cookies it needs to process the payment securely, under Paddle's own policy.
3. Why we collect it
To process your purchase and deliver a working, properly licensed copy of the CAFE software.
To respond to support or sales inquiries.
To protect against license fraud and unauthorized redistribution — the hardware identifier is used solely to bind your license to your machine, as disclosed at checkout and in the software End User License Agreement.
To keep the Site and backend API secure and operational.
4. Who we share it with
Paddle (paddle.com), our payment processor and merchant of record, handles your payment, tax collection, and receipt issuance. Paddle processes your checkout data under its own privacy policy, available at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
Render (render.com) hosts our backend, and Cloudflare (cloudflare.com) hosts the Site and the download files; both process technical/server data as described in Section 2 as part of providing that infrastructure.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond what is described in this Policy.
5. How long we keep it
Checkout and license data is kept for as long as needed to support your license (including reissuing it if you change hardware, subject to the limits described in the software license terms) and to comply with applicable tax and accounting obligations.
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve the inquiry, unless a longer period is required for legal or accounting reasons.
Free trial requests (name, email, company, hardware identifier, and the trial key issued) are kept to apply the limit of one trial per computer and per email and to follow up on the trial. You can ask us to delete them at any time by writing to [email protected].
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act). To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected] — we will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
If you are in Mexico, you may exercise your rights of Access, Rectification, Cancellation and Opposition (ARCO rights) under the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP), and revoke your consent to the processing of your data, by writing to the same address. State your name, the right you wish to exercise and the data it concerns.
Because Paddle processes your payment data independently as a data controller for that purpose, requests specifically about payment/billing records may also need to go to Paddle directly.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect the data we handle (encrypted transport via HTTPS, hardware-bound license signing, and access limited to what is needed to operate the Site and deliver licenses). No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Site and the software are commercial B2B products not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
